We will all be together for the first time. It’s surreal. I can’t even describe how excited I am. There really are no words to describe it.
Thank goodness these Ravens are just as easy to feed as our Yukon ravens. They say they will eat anything!
Since these ladies are going to such great lengths to get out here to the Yukon, I have decided I will put in a bunch of work beforehand prepping to feed them. Feeding people is something I am really good at!
Want to know what is in my freezer so far to feed these fantastic women?
- about 8 dozen cookies. Maybe 10. I lost track.
- a lot of muffins. 6 dozen? Lost track there too.
- a double batch of homemade spaghetti sauce- moose burger of course
- homemade chili and again with moose
- 4 dozen homemade buns
- homemade sausage, moose and pork, just made this last week
I will be cooking up some fantastic meals from the kitchen in my little truck-camper! There are a few jars of canned moose meat and canned turkey that I put up over the winter all ready to be turned into moose and turkey stew. The cast iron griddle is packed and ready for breakfasts of pancakes or french toast with bacon. Yum!
So there is definitely no worries of anyone going hungry!
While everyone is making lists on what they are needing to pack, I’m making a list of trip music I need to stuff into my crapple music player.
Just like the extra time you should take to cultivate the perfect Bubble Gum bubble, even though your toddler is demanding you produce one quicker then the last, you need to take the time to think about and create the perfect trip music list. It takes time to produce anything of quality.
Here is my trip tunes list, it’s a mix of positive upbeat songs and some cheesy current pop music, just in time for summer.
1. “Inner Ninja” – Classified
2. “Pompeii” – Bastille
3. “Good Feeling” – Flo Rider (This also happens to be the song on my oldest daughter’s toothbrush – she has to brush for the whole song!)
4. “On top of the World” – Imagine Dragons
5. “Gang of Rhythm” – Walk Off the Earth
6. “Good Time” – Owl City & That Carly girl
7. “Feel so Close” – Calvin Harris
8. “Blurred Lines” – Robin Thicke
9. “One in a Million” – Down with Webster
10. “Diane Young” – Vampire Weekend.
That’s it ladies, some of these I’m sure we are going to play over and over, and some of these I’m sure are going to make Kennie puke, like the Carly Rae song. I’m also sure all of these songs will make Kara’s husband’s head explode. But don’t worry just reassure him that my daughter claims her favourite band is Metallico (Metallica) and all will be right with the universe again.
Set for repeat!
Holy shit in a brick it’s just over a month until we are all together. I still can’t believe it. I drove by a sign the other day for a car show that is happening on June 22nd. My first thought was “cool that will be a great day to take pictures” which was then quickly followed by “holy shit I’ll be in the Yukon then!” I’m nervous, I’m excited, and honestly I’m a little scared shitless. I have never been away from my kids and husband for that long. This is the first time I have ever done something JUST for me. Honestly I still haven’t figured out what my contribution to the Raven’s Swag is yet. I am thinking that I will go in a bit of a different direction, but I am not going into any further details as I want to be a surprise. I keep thinking of that initial meeting in the airport. My belly drops and I want to start to cry. To say it’s going to be epic is the understatement of the year. I wish there was a way to get the local media there. It will certainly be news worthy.
