Happy Thanksgiving

For flowers that bloom about our feet;
For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet;
For song of bird, and hum of bee;
For all things fair we hear or see,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee!
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Even though our holidays look different and it’s just the two of us… we will always have fun adventures my bug.

Thanksgiving day is the perfect opportunity to remind you of how special you are (Little Bug) and how much you mean to me. May all your dreams come true this thanksgiving. My wish for you is that you never stop being your spunky, happy self. That you are always up for adventures with your momma and that we have a lifetime of laughter ahead of us.

I am so blessed and lucky that you call me momma. Little bug, all my dreams came true when you entered my life. I love our adventures together.

Even though the last year has had a lot of change it was the first without Mum/ Grandma. And we did it Katie! We made new memories just the two of us going on adventures all while remembering holidays and memories from the past. Then with Covid and lockdowns this past spring life changed once again and we adjusted. It wasn’t always easy….but I do know one thing. I’m so thankful that through all this craziness I’ve gotten to spend so much more time with you when you were 2! I know I will cherish these memories we have made in the years ahead.

Whenever we saw people on the trail… Katie would declare “I’m invisible” and stay super quiet and still until they had passed. Oh to be two!

Thanksgiving comes once in a year, but may the feeling of gratitude live in our hearts all year round. Sending love and hugs to all our family that are celebrating in their own homes this year! Luv, Sarah & Katie

Happy Thanksgiving

Just wishing my my Canadian family and friends a Happy Thanksgiving! Turkeys... Sitting with the Turkeys

“Gratitude can transform
common days into thanksgivings,
turn routine jobs into joy,
and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”
William Arthur Ward

sneaking up on Turkeys 101

Hope your turkey hunting was as successful as mine! I’m thankful for a job I love and for family and friends that support me no matter what. Feel free to leave me a message in the comments… What are you Thankful right now?

Side Note: The photos in this post are some of my favourite shots my friend Ryan Bealer snapped of me the fall of 2010.  We were in Birds Hill Park just outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba.  We were out taking photos on our weekly photo night…and happened upon this wild ‘flock’ of turkeys…the rest is history! They might be oldies but they are goodies….

Adele

Last December I was able to get 4 tickets to go to see Adele on her 25 Tour…when she came to Toronto for 4 shows on October 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th!  I must admit the last year it was the LONGEST wait until this week arrived… and finally the time was here it was time to go see Adele Live in concert.

So Party of 4…who came? Well the first choice was easy–as part of my Mum’s 60th Birthday celebration this year…I decided her big gift would be to see Adele live. The second choice was my friend Josefina….it was actually her birthday this past week as well…so for her birthday gift  she joined the party!  And last but not least I invited Sole (Josefina’s sister-in-law) and that  finished off our party of 4.  adele_0003

…just waiting for Adele to start.  Even though we were up high..in section 324….we had the BEST view of the stages and could enjoy the whole concert without people obstructing our view by standing in front of us! adele_0002The concert was everything I thought it would be and so much more.  Adele is so down-to-earth and her monologues and stories between her songs were amazing! Even though she’s a super star…she’s just so real and down to earth. (At one point told us all that the only reason she works out is to eat junk! Honestly, she’s so right…part of the only reason I work out.) It was so cool to hear Adele explain what she was thinking about when she wrote certain songs and the inspiration behind them. Everything from the stage design…and all the details large and small of the concert made it feel like it was held in a small venue, not a huge one like the ACC.

She even made it rain in the ACC… when she set fire to the rain.  adele_0005

I did take a few video clips throughout the evening…but I have a few problems with sharing them.  One: I don’t know how to edit them…I wanted to string a bunch of the short clips into one video.  Two: I didn’t realize at the time of the concert that me singing would be so clear…LOL no one needs to hear my voice along with ADELE… so I suppose the videos will remain in the vault for now.  I really do need to figure out how to edit clips though…might have to ask a friend that has seemed to mastered sharing short video clips via their blog. Yahoo, for learning new technology right? adele_0006

The encore and last song of the evening was Rolling in the Deep…. where Adele encouraged us all to get on our feet and dance! So of course we did…Later via social media I found out that all of the confetti…had Adele lyrics printed on it!

It was such a fabulous concert,  the kind of night that you were totally in the moment… and the two hour seemed like two minutes.  Don’t worry though I enjoyed every minute of the two hours as Adele shared her stories and songs with us. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to go to the concert and I could have picked three better people to share the experience with me.
